What a delight it was to host an assemblage of exceptional men and women for an exclusive luncheon at our famous Die Werf restaurant this February. We celebrated the amazing works of internationally acclaimed artist Raquel van Haver at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, as well as the launch of our new Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2018 – one of SA’s most indulgent wines.
We co-hosted the event with our friend Carol Bouwer. It was a lovely occasion and the ideal way to welcome our rose gold wine. Carol said, “What a delight to celebrate the reinvention of a Boschendal classic! The new vintage Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2018 enjoys an elevated crisp taste and remarkable intensity, whilst maintaining the characteristic freshness of this unique wine. A truly versatile varietal, ideal to match with any cuisine, and best enjoyed in the fine company of friends. Thank you to the Boschendal team for being such impressive hosts.”
Igshaan Adams, Shado Twala, Lynelle Kenned and Jude West were amongst the guests at this exclusive luncheon and were presented with the best of farm-to-table fare, along with our Chardonnay Pinot Noir, of course!
As the sun sets, winemaker Lizelle Gerber joins the festivities. While enjoying a glass of the exceptional blend she crafted, she shares details on the harvesting process: “The Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir grapes enjoy long, cool nights during the ripening period. Once ripe, they are picked in the early morning chill to retain a crisp fruit expression in the wine. Hints of strawberry preserve impart an intriguing aroma, while cues of ripe red berries are also evident.”
